And it’s a wrap. The 2023 edition of the Power2Drive trade show ended on Friday after 3 days of intense networking, discussions, and demonstrations on the Wallbox booth - and in the many alleys of the fair.
For the first time, Electromaps was officially present on the group’s booth, taking the lead on the new “Software Solutions”-area, one of the 3 areas of the booth. We unveiled the 3 main pillars of our software offering that enable us to serve CPOs, companies of all kind (offices, shopping malls, hotels, etc.) as well as municipalities that want to offer an electric vehicle charging service: EVectum, EVectrum Fleet and myWallbox.
Software solutions: the perfect companion for EV chargers
Many companies do not realise that acquiring and installing hardware is just the 1st step. So, why should companies also invest in software? Our Director of Marketing had the pleasure of explaining this to visitors on the booth.
Main customer benefits that EV software solutions offer
- Monetization: by publishing their chargers on our platform, companies can make those chargers available to millions of EV drivers, through dozens of e-mobility apps.
- Maximum uptime: our management software enables its users to maximise their charge points’ uptime thanks to real-time monitoring and remote diagnostics capabilities.
- Investment optimization: our customers can reduce the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) thanks to myWallbox’s power management solutions (“Power Boost”, “Dynamic Power Sharing”)
- EV fleet management: companies that are building a fleet of electric vehicles can monitor charging activities in real-time - at their employees’ home, at the office & on public charging stations. They give their employees the freedom to charge anywhere and set up reimbursement policies.
- Flexibility & scalability: with EVectrum, admins can manage both their Wallbox chargers as well as any OCPP-ready chargers (there are more than 48).
The star of the Wallbox show: Quasar 2
The crowd gathered each day to experience a unique live demo of the new Quasar 2 in “island mode”. And this has of course nothing to do with palm trees. “Island mode” means that we demonstrated how the whole booth, which would represent a house, could go completely off-grid, i.e. not receiving any electricity from the grid, and only rely on the battery of the Cupra Born which was parked on the booth. This is how V2G (or Vehicle to Grid) is done - it is not theoretical, it is finally coming for real!
Besides the Quasar 2, Wallbox introduced Orion, its new bet for the semi-public spaces, and highlighted its complete range of existing chargers.
Power2Drive, the “little sister” of the Intersolar trade show
Power2Drive is part of the massive Intersolar trade show that has been taking place since… 1991!
The Intersolar trade show is a leading international event in the field of solar energy and photovoltaic technologies. It serves as a platform for industry professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts to come together and showcase the latest innovations, products, and services related to solar energy.
The trade show features a wide range of exhibitors from various sectors of the solar industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and project developers. Attendees can explore cutting-edge solar technologies, such as solar panels, inverters, energy storage systems, and smart grid solutions.
Intersolar offers a unique opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, and business development. Participants can engage in discussions, attend seminars, and participate in workshops to gain insights into market trends, policy developments, and best practices in the solar industry. It also provides a platform for fostering partnerships and collaborations among stakeholders.
The trade show, which this year was visited by no less than 106.000 people (!!), focuses on promoting the transition to a sustainable energy future by highlighting the importance of solar energy as a clean and renewable source of power. It aims to accelerate the adoption of solar technologies globally and contribute to the growth and advancement of the solar industry.
It was fascinating to see how the solar industry has embraced electric mobility and is preparing itself to capture the amazing opportunity that the fast-growth of the EV industry is representing.
“Driving on Sunshine” is definitely not only a myth, nor a Vision, it is becoming a reality.
