Electromaps and FEDA Solucions have signed a roaming agreement that allows Electromaps users to access the charging points of the electricity company in Andorra.
This agreement involves the direct connection between 23 FEDA charging points and 22 of other associated charging operators, such as Nord Andorrà, Mútua Elèctrica, Sercensa and Comú d'Ordino, through the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. From now on, Electromaps users are currently able to find, access and manage their charging at all charging points on public roads in Andorra, through the mobile application and the Electromaps RFID keyfob. Users can also have real-time information on the status of the point, being able to know if it is working or not and its availability.
This agreement between the two companies represents a great advance in interoperability, helping users in Andorra, France and Spain carry out their chargings in an easier and simpler way.
The OCPI protocol, which is already being adopted by companies such as Electromaps and FEDA Solucions, supports direct connections between electric mobility service providers (eMSPs) that have electric vehicle drivers as users/clients, as is the case with Electromaps, and the charging point operators (CPO) that manage the charging stations.
Another step forward towards the electric mobility in Europe
On one hand, Electromaps aims to improve the charging experience throughout the world, so agreements such as the one reached with FEDA Solucions are important for the progress of electric mobility and facilitate traveling and charging to all electric vehicle users, also reducing autonomy anxiety. In this sense, Maximilien Kauffmann, Co-CEO of Electromaps, has declared that "Andorra is an important tourist destination and adding the public road charging points in Andorra to our interoperability network will be very well received by our users".
On the other hand, FEDA Solucions continues to invest in improving its services, not only with internal mobility in mind, but also with regard to interconnectivity with Europe. In this sense, Ivan Mora, general manager at FEDA Solutions, has declared that "the Electromaps network with more than 230,000 users and 240,000 charging points throughout Europe, is the benchmark in electric mobility services and the best possible showcase to inform electric mobility tourists from our public charging services”. Likewise, FEDA Solucions has thanked the adhering charging operators for their participation in the Electromaps network, thus ensuring that all public charging points are available to platform users.
