Electromaps and Plenitude + Be Charge have reached an interoperability agreement, which involves the direct connection of the charging stations of the Italian company to the Electromaps app through the Open Charge Interface protocol (OCPI).
Electromaps users can find, access and directly start a charging session at more than 15,000 public charge points that Plenitude + Be Charge has installed in Italy and abroad. With this agreement with one of the main actors in the EV charging solutions in the country, we give users a much more accurate picture of the public charging network in Italy, in terms of quantity of charging points and quality of the information offered by our app. So Electromaps users can now have real-time information on the status of these points, being able to know their availability and even getting notified when an occupied charging point they are interested in becomes available. In addition, they can securely and easily pay for their charges through the Electromaps app, or the RFID keytag or card.
Plenitude + Be Charge is deploying one of the most widespread network of alternating and direct (AC - DC) charging stations along Italy and abroad, from 22 kW to above 150 kW, providing 100% certified renewable energy and 24/7 monitoring service to allow EV drivers to enjoy their road trips in the most safe and sustainable way and to make a decisive contribution to the development of a sustainable mobility system. The company has a stated goal of installing 30,000 charging points by 2026 and a major development plan in Europe to build one of the largest high-power charging networks along the main European transport corridors and in major urban nodes in eight countries: Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Greece.
Electromaps aims to facilitate EV charging, by including the largest amount of charging stations in its map, offering the most reliable information about the connectors, and the best solutions for users, such as charging activations, payments, and general EV charging experience.
Regarding this agreement, Maximilien Kauffmann, CEO of Electromaps, states that "our company is always looking to improve the density of our network and the quality of service to our users. It is therefore a great pleasure to have signed this interoperability agreement with Plenitude + Be Charge, which already has an extensive network of charge points across Italy. This agreement benefits electric vehicle drivers and helps accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility in South Europe.”
A win-win agreement for both Electromaps and Plenitude + Be Charge
Italy is a key market for Electromaps, along with France and Spain. We have been very actively expanding in Italy in the last few months, and have nothing less than doubled our number of users and charging sessions in the first quarter of the year!
